The collective Not Common Girls developed a formal and plastic research able to integrate the links between memory and gender inequality. By taking up the ancestral practice of women weavers’ circles, but this time as emancipated women.
Woven Bodies is an installation resulting from an artistic commission for the triple height central courtyard of the Tantalo Hotel. From the representation of a whole (volume), constituted by individual entities (threads), this work questions the identity and cultural memory of the female hope. Specifically, they wanted to represent the wide spectrum and monumentalism that can be achieved by the sisterhood.
