2018 – 2020. Textile Sculpture Workshops
Contemporary Art Museum of Panama (MAC Panama)
Fundación Alemán Healy
Allegro Gallery
Inspired by the concept of community life of pre-Columbian indigenous peoples, Isabel Judez co-founded the artistic collective “Not Common Girls” in Panama in 2018. This group reinterprets the ancestral tradition of weaving circles, incorporating a dimension of female emancipation and examining the links between memory and gender inequalities. Through the creation of sculptures and textile installations, as well as workshops and round-table discussions during weaving sessions, the collective encourages women to reconnect with their creative desires within the academic framework of contemporary art. These meetings have served as a platform to discuss urgent feminist issues and to embark on a quest for individual and collective female identity.
