Excerpt :
Inspired by Simone Seijas Paysero’s poem “When Women Gather Around the Fire,” This sculptural series explores the symbolic act of feminine gathering and collective weaving. Through the interplay of industrial metal mesh as the warp and soft cotton threads as the weft, these works evoke the tension between rigid societal structures and the softer, nurturing aspects of feminine identity. The use of pink in Judez’s sculptures deliberately contrasts with industrial materials, challenging traditional gender stereotypes while inviting contemplation on the politics of female solidarity, labor, and emancipation.
