Inspired by the poem of the Uruguayan writer Simone Seijas Paysero, “Cuando las cabezas de las mujeres se juntan alrededor del fuego” (when the women heads get together around the fire), this exhibition makes a contemporary ode to the ancestral practice of weaving in women circles. The steel mesh that structures the tridimensional tapestries, recreates an industrial version of the traditional loom : using a wide size prefabricated material instead of fine and condensed thread.
