Inspired by the concept of community life of pre-Columbian indigenous peoples, Isabel Judez co-founded the artistic collective “Not Common Girls” with Alejandra Pernalete and Javiera San Martin in Panama in 2018.

This group reinterprets the ancestral tradition of weaving circles, incorporating a dimension of female emancipation and examining the links between memory and gender inequalities. Through the creation of sculptures and textile installations, as well as workshops and round-table discussions during weaving sessions, the collective encourages women to reconnect with their creative desires within the academic framework of contemporary art. These meetings have served as a platform to discuss urgent feminist issues and to embark on a quest for individual and collective female identity.

From 2018 to 2020 they created sculptures, installations and workshops, having solo exhibitions at the Alliance Française du Panama, the Allegro Gallery, Its Art Gallery, as well as commissions from Saatchi Art, Tantalo Hotel, Dekel Holdings and Selina Hostels.
