Excerpt:
Driven by the desire to create inclusive and resilient monuments, this project draws inspiration from the geomorphology of the Rocky Mountains, transposing the American geological heritage into a matrix-like and textile form. The two suspended sculptures, designed as part of a public art commission, echo the warm color palette of the landscape and harmoniously integrate with the architecture of the atriums in Boulder’s new city hall and its parking structure. Simultaneously, an artist residency, conducted in collaboration with curator Ida Soulard, invites citizens and local artists to participate in the creation of a sound artwork—a sensitive reflection of the social fabric—that will accompany and extend the presence of the sculptures.
