Excerpt:

This performance invites the public into an active engagement with the complex layers of feminine identity, mediated through the historically charged practice of weaving. Drawing from the intersections of memory, spatial politics, and the ongoing struggle for emancipation, the performance interrogates how notions of individuality and collectivity are reconfigured in the process of creating an artwork. Bodies, tethered by a shared textile canvas, form a relational network, as the act of embroidery—historically associated with women’s domestic labor—becomes a radical gesture of proximity and collective becoming.

As the embroidery organically unfolds, participants move closer, enacting a performative exploration of how individual agency interacts with collective processes. In this feminist reimagining of space, time, and craft, the performance foregrounds the work of revolutionary women artists from the Americas, such as Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape, and Cecilia Vicuña, whose practices have questioned and expanded the boundaries of art, politics, and embodiment.
