Excerpt :
As heritage architects and residents of the UNESCO district, the artists drew inspiration from “Salsipuedes,” a symbol of Panamanian folklore and a mirror of the city’s urban transformations. This work integrates aged architectural elements with vibrant threads, blending folk traditions within a minimalist aesthetic. By creating a dialogue between the historical past and the neighborhood’s contemporary evolution, it highlights the impact of gentrification on the city’s memory and identity. The piece thus weaves a meaningful connection between art, history, and the rapidly shifting social fabric, urging reflection on the preservation of cultural heritage amidst urban change.
